Dates

  • Session 1:
    July 7-July 21 (Mon - Thurs)
  • Session 2:
    July 23-August 6 (Mon - Thurs)

Instructional Experience

  • Students attend in-person for each day of the session.
  • Each day of class will cover a  high volume of work, so attendance is mandatory.
  • Classes begin at 8:00 am and end at 2:30 pm.

Calendar

  • March 9: Registration begins
  • May 1: Non-MCPS and future enrolled student registration opens. Non-MCPS students must live in Montgomery County.
  • May 29 : Registration ends for Session 1 courses–no changes to course selection permitted after this date for Session 1 courses
  • June 1: Non-MCPS and future enrolled student registration closes at 5:00 p.m.
  • June 29: Registration ends for Session 2 courses–no changes to course selection permitted after this date for Session 2 courses
  • July 7: First day of classes for Session 1
  • July 21: Last day of Session 1 courses
  • July 23: First day of Session 2 courses
  • August 6: Last day of Session 2 courses
  • August 11: Summer Graduation Rehearsal
  • August 12: Summer Graduation

Tuition

Students who are taking courses for original credit and students retaking courses to improve original grade earned will have to pay tuition. Students retaking required graduation courses for credit recovery, to replace a failing grade, will not have to pay.

  • School Cash Online is the preferred payment method
  • A 4% service fee, reflected in the costs above, are added to each invoice
  • School counselors will register the students.  Parents/caregivers will receive an invoice through School Cash Online with payment instructions.
  • Parents and caregivers can make in-person payments for summer school, cash or money order only (exact amount only), at 15 W. Gude Dr., Rockville, MD 20850 on the following days:
  • Tuesday June 2 7:30-12:00
    Monday June 8 3:00-6:00
    Wednesday June 17 9:00-1:00
    Monday June 22 3:00-6:00
    Thursday June 25 7:30-12:00
    Tuesday June 30 11:00-1:00
  • Payments for Session 1 courses must be received by Tuesday, June 23, 2026, or students will not be enrolled in their course.
  • Payments for Session 2 courses must be received by Monday, July 13, 2026, or students will not be enrolled in their course.
  • Full or partial refunds may be made for students who attend class for the first 3 days of a session or less. A parent/guardian must request the refund prior to the refund deadline.

Course List

Please note the following when registering:

  • Biology B and NSL B can only be taken by students graduating in the class of 2026. Students graduating in 2027 or later must take Biology BX and NSL BX. These students must also take the summer state test for their grade to be recorded.  These courses are only offered in session 1.
  • Rising 9th graders may only take courses in the following contents:
    • Honors Health Education (online)
    • Technology (online)
    • Algebra 2 or Honors Geometry (In-Person). These courses require the appropriate approvals from the middle school math content specialist. Rising 9th graders can not take Algebra 1 for original credit.
