Regional Summer School Program

About the Regional Program

Locations

  • Richard Montgomery High School

As a result of low enrollment, the three in-person regional summer school sites will be consolidated to one site. All in-person summer school instruction will take place at Richard Montgomery High School, which is centrally located and accessible by public transportation. MCPS will also provide transportation from Montgomery Blair and Seneca Valley to and from Richard Montgomery.

Dates

  • Session 1:
June 26-July 16 (No class on July 4)
  • Session 2:
    July 18-August 6

Instructional Experience

  • Students attend in-person for each day of the session.
  • Each day of class will cover the same volume of work that students during the year cover in approximately 1 week, so attendance is absolutely essential.
  • Classes begin at 8:00 am and end at 12:30 pm.

Calendar

  • March 22: Registration begins
  • May 1: Non-MCPS registration opens
  • May 31: Registration ends for Session 1 courses–no changes to course selection permitted after this date for Session 1 courses
  • June 26: First day of classes for Session 1
  • June 30: Registration ends for Session 2 courses–no changes to course selection permitted after this date for Session 2 courses
  • July 16: Last day of Session 1 courses
  • July 18: First day of Session 2 courses
  • August 6: Last day of Session 2 courses
