The Department of Systemwide Safety and Emergency Management (DSSEM) with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is responsible for conducting a fingerprint review of individuals who are seeking employment, as well as those wishing to serve in the capacity of a volunteer, chaperone, coach, advisor, student teacher, or intern. Such background checks are necessary to ensure a safe and secure learning and working environment.

Effective Tuesday, September 15, 2020, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), in partnership with our vendor American Identity Solutions, will begin operating under a modified schedule for in-person background screening services. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, these services are offered at an alternate MCPS facility, by appointment only, to allow for adherence of social distancing requirements.

There is a fingerprinting fee of $55.25 (cash payment) or $56.45 (credit card payment). Payment is due at the time of your fingerprinting appointment.
