Registration

*Registration is open for MCPS students.

Link to ParentVue

If you are unable to use ParentVue to register your student for summer courses, please contact your student’s school counselor. They will be able to support your registration.

Summer School staff will also be available in person at Carver Educational Services Center (850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, MD 20850) on designated days during the registration window for registration and payment.

  • Parents/caregivers can register through ParentVue once only, though they can register for multiple classes for multiple children.
  • For this reason, it's important to choose the correct program, online or in-person or a combination of the two, when you register.
  • The registration module doesn't allow for edits/changes. Once the registration is submitted, any needed changes must be requested through the Help Form. The registration module in Synergy will not reflect any changes made as a result of requests through the Help Form.

Students may take up to two courses per session–one Regional course and one late Central course, or two Central courses. Students who wish to take one Regional, in-person course and one Central course must take the Central course in the Late session.
IMPORTANT: Please note that taking two courses in a session will require approximately 7-8 hours per weekday of engagement. There are no refunds after classes begin.

  1. Submit Online Registration through parent view or student’s counselor
  2. Student and parent/caregiver will receive confirmation of registration–this does not mean that the student will be enrolled in the courses selected, only that the registration has been received.
IMPORTANT: If you do not receive a confirmation that the registration has been received, check to ensure that the registration was submitted appropriately.
  3. Counselor will review course selections to ensure the correct course(s) were selected at registration.
  4. Student and parent/caregiver will receive an email indicating which selected courses were approved and which were rejected by the counselor.
IMPORTANT: To avoid course rejections, confirm courses with the student’s counselor before submitting the registration.
  5. Parent/caregiver will receive an invoice in School Cash Online indicating the amount owed based on the number of courses for which the student is registered and any tuition waivers to be applied.
IMPORTANT: The tuition waiver information is part of the Online Registration process. A separate form will not be required if the registration is submitted through ParentVue.
  6. Parent/caregiver should pay the invoice on School Cash Online as soon as possible.
  7. Student and parent/caregiver will receive confirmation email that payment has been received and student will be sectioned into selected courses.
