Cigna has advised Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) that some Medicare enrollees were erroneously charged a copay for services at the beginning of 2024. MCPS has worked with Cigna to have the issue corrected.
If, as a retiree enrolled in Medicare, you paid a copay to your provider in January or February of 2024, the copay will be refunded to your provider’s office. You can expect to receive a refund from your provider. Affected retirees also will receive an adjusted Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
Cigna has apologized for any inconvenience this error has caused.
