Ten Major Capital Projects Completed

A list of the ten major projects completed this past fiscal year:

  • Brand new Arcola Elementary School
  • Modernizaton of Parkland Magnet Middle School for Aerospace Technology
  • Signature Program addition at Albert Einstein High School
  • Six classroom addition at Sherwood High School
  • Four classroom addition at Sligo Creek Elementary School
  • Eleven classroom addition at Weller Road Elementary School
  • Gymnasium additions at:
    • Bel Pre Elementary School
    • Burning Tree Elementary School
    • Fairland Elementary School
    • Thurgood Marshall Elementary School
In total, 751,775 square feet of new and modernized space was added to MCPS facilities this past fiscal year.

Great Seneca Creek ES receives Gold LEED Certification through USGBC

Great Seneca Creek Elementary School became the first LEED school for MCPS and the State of Maryland.  For more information, check out the Green Building site!
