The bands at Quince Orchard High School are comprised of four bands: Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, as well as a Jazz Band. All bands meet during the regularly scheduled school day and students receive credit for courses.
Concert/Symphonic Band are traditional wind bands that focus on the development of individual students musicianship through performance of outstanding music. These ensembles perform regularly in fall and spring concerts as well as at the MCPS Emerging Ensemble Adjudication. Membership in these groups is open to any and all students.
Wind Ensemble is the premiere wind band at Quince Orchard. The Wind Ensemble performs traditional and contemporary wind band literature. This ensemble performs annual fall and spring concerts as well as at the MCPS Band Adjudication. Membership in the group is determined by instrumentation need and player ability.
Jazz Band is an advanced level ensemble that studies a variety of big band repertoire. Membership in this ensemble is based on instrumentation need and student ability. This ensemble performs annual fall and spring concerts as well as at the MCPS Big Band Jazz Adjudication.
