How to Become an Internship Sponsor

    Fill Out Form

    Complete the Internship Sponsor form.

    Create Job Description

    Create a job description that describes the job duties, hours of work, location of work, eligibility requirement (i.e. the ability to lift, etc.).

    MCPS Promotes Your Internship

    MCPS will post your position on the MCPS database that is visible to all students and work based learning staff. Internship Coordinators will promote your opportunity within high schools. MCPS staff will conduct a site visit.

    MCPS Sends you Applications

    MCPS will send you applications and resumes for review. You can interview candidates virtually or in person and decide if you would like to extend offers.

    Work with Your Intern

    Work with your intern to establish expectations, learning goals, and projects they can work on during this exciting learning experience. Know that MCPS is available at any time to support you or the intern.
