DEPARTMENT OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT → SERT → CAMPAIGNS & CONTESTS
The GOT PAPER? contest was designed to maximize recycling at the beginning of the school year (August) and again when school ends (June). Both of these time frames provide significant opportunities to capture recyclable materials. In past years, this contest was only held in June so that students and staff could easily recycle as they cleaned out their lockers, desks, and classrooms. Starting this year, the contest is also being held in August to capture the extra recyclable materials associated with preparing the school for the new year (tech mod, new furniture, teacher moves, classroom prep, etc.). Through the years, the GOT PAPER? contest has proven to not only increase the paper recycling tonnage, but has also resulted in a decrease in solid waste.
