Staff members perform a wide variety of maintenance services to keep Montgomery County Public Schools in optimal condition. This includes repairs to building components and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems. Maintenance and repair services are performed by staff who work out of three regional service centers (Downcounty, Midcounty, and Upcounty). Each service center has five shops that are open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. providing specialized trade work:

Centralized preventive maintenance (PM) team members are dedicated to performing critical PM tasks at all MCPS locations. Their work includes replacing HVAC filters and ceiling tiles, inspecting roofs and building exteriors, and more.
