Promoting a Positive Culture

MCPS is dedicated to promoting a positive culture in our schools, on our athletic teams and in our community. The following are some resources compiled for the numerous stakeholders committed to providing our students with a safe, positive environment to learn, grow and progress in.

On-line Athletic Registration

  • The myMCPS Parent Portal will re-open for Fall 2019 registration on Friday, July 19, 2019. Make sure you get your student athletes registered in time for the August 14th fall season start date.

  • Over 9,500 student-athletes registered for spring sports using the myMCPS Parent Portal! Our first full year of utilizing on-line registration for athletics has been a huge success!!

Upcoming Events  

  • This week is action packed with state championship tournaments. Best of luck to all our student athletes. #WeRAISE
    • Thursday - Sat. , 5/23-5/25, the Tennis State Championship Tournament takes place at the Wilde Lake Tennis Center, starting at 10:00 am all three days. Visit mpssaa.org for tournament info. and bracket updates. Admission for this event is free!
    • The State Track Championship meets take place Thursday 5/23 - Saturday 5/25, at Morgan State University. Visit mpssaa.org for heat sheets, event information and meet results. Admission for this event is $10 for everyone 7 years of age and older. 
    • The Sherwood Warriors will compete for state titles in Baseball and Softball this Friday and Saturday. Baseball takes place Friday, 5/24 at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD @ 7:30 pm. Softball state finals take place Saturday, 5/25 at The University of Maryland in College Park, MD @ 7:30 pm. Admission for both games is $10 for everyone 7 years of age and older. Check out "Sports Insight" on MCPSTV, a web and TV series about the MCPS high school and middle school athletics program.The monthly program provides a behind the scenes look at MCPS athletics, while highlighting student-athletes, teachers, coaches and support staff, covering a variety of topics like sportsmanship and community involvement.
