2024 Spring Game Changers Conference Set for April 24; Essay Contest April 10
Attention parents of male students in Grades 4-12! You are invited to attend the 2024 Spring Game Changer Conference for Young Males hosted by Unity Christian Fellowship (UCF), Inc. This event will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Universities at Shady Grove. Transportation may be available through MCPS from your area.
Registration closes Tuesday, April 3. Spaces are limited.
The mission of the conference is to craft a “Game Changer” experience that reignites and builds the social-emotional wellness, confidence, and values of young males. This conference encourages young males to embrace a positive attitude and pursue academic excellence to reach their full potential, boosting high school graduation and college readiness rates.
This year's spring conference theme encourages students to see themselves as competitors in life's big game, where trying hard, being smart, and playing well lead to winning their dreams.
Some of the conference sessions include life skills stations, panel conversations, a STEM exposure experience and a parent advocacy academy roundtable.
To foster academic excellence, the conference will also host a student essay competition. Participants are encouraged to submit a 300-word essay answering the essay theme question: “Being a Competitor is a Game Changer: How will you Compete to Win and Own your Future?” Essay submissions are due by Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at GC Essay Contest Submission. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each age division.
