Credit Union, NAACP Offering Scholarships to Students
The Educational Systems Federal Credit Union’s foundation is offering three scholarships to MCPS students:
The Dorothy Marvil Scholarship, a one-time $3,000 scholarship, can be used for tuition at a four-year university, community college, technical college or trade school. Applications are due Friday, March 15.
The Rosemary Brinkley Business and Finance Scholarship, also a one-time $3,000 scholarship, which can be used toward a degree in business, finance or a related field at a four-year university or community college. Applications are also due Friday, March 15.
A Community College Scholarship is a one-time $3,000 scholarship toward tuition to continue attending Montgomery College, Frederick Community College, Howard Community College, Prince George’s Community College or the College of Southern Maryland during the following academic school year. Applications are due Friday, March 15.

The Montgomery County branch of the NAACP is awarding $1,000 scholarships to MCPS graduating seniors. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, March 22. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, participate in extracurricular activities, participate in faith-based, religious-based or volunteer activities, and submit a 300-word essay addressing the theme, “Embracing Our Legacy!”

The scholarships will be presented during the annual Freedom Fund Dinner on Sunday, May 19.
