Creating Shortcuts

Would you like a shortcut for certain phrases that you use frequently when typing? Here is how to do it!

  • In Word 2003, click Tools > AutoCorrect Options.
  • Type an abbreviation for the phrase in the “Replace:” box.
  • Type the complete phrase in the “With:” box.
  • Click OK.

or

  • In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office button.
  • Click Word Options button > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options.
  • Type an abbreviation for the phrase in the “Replace:” box.
  • Type the complete phrase in the “With:” box.
  • Click OK.

The next time you type the abbreviation followed by a space, the entire phrase will appear—like magic!
