Summer Adventures in Learning
(ELO SAIL Grades K–5)

July 6 - August 6, 2021

Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Adventures in Learning (ELO SAIL) is a five-week summer program available to rising K–5 students enrolled in Title I schools for the 2021–2022 school year. ELO SAIL will be offered either in-person at your child's school or via a virtual model. Your school will provide more information in the coming weeks as Montgomery County Public Schools finalizes plans for the summer.     

All schools will have a 6.5 hour student day for the in-person model, and a 4 hour student day (in the morning) for the virtual model. Schedules vary by school. Students will engage in hands-on, exciting literacy, mathematics, science, and enrichment instruction. ELO SAIL provides a high-quality learning experience to prepare students for the start of the school year. This program is provided to students enrolled in Title I schools free of charge.

Summer Title I Enrichment Program
(ELO STEP Grades 3–5)

July 6 - August 6, 2021

Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Title I Enrichment Program (ELO STEP) is a five-week summer program available to selected 3–5 students enrolled in Title I schools for the 2021–2022 school year. ELO STEP will be offered either in person at your child's school or via a virtual model. Your school will provide more information in the coming weeks as Montgomery County Public Schools finalizes plans for the summer.  

All schools will have a 6.5 hour student day for the in-person model, and a 4 hour student day (in the morning) for the virtual model. Schedules vary by school. Students will engage in enriching learning experiences with a focus on critical and creative thinking skills. This program is provided to selected students enrolled in Title I schools free of charge.

Summer Title I Middle School Program
(Grades 6–8)

July 6 - August 6, 2021

Title I Extended learning Opportunities Middle School ELO is five-week summer program available to rising 6th–8th grade students attending Montgomery Village or White Oak Middle School. The program will run Monday through Friday, from July 6-August 6, 2021. ELO will take place in-person, at your child's school, or in and online learning environment, depending on parent preference. Both the in-person and online programs will include high-quality instruction in mathematics and English Language Arts. In addition to the core content, your child(ren) will be able to select from a variety of elective courses to participate in during ELO.

Participating Title I Elementary Schools 

If your child is enrolled at any of the schools below for the fall 2021, he/she is eligible to participate in ELO SAIL.

Any MCPS family interested in registering their school-aged child should follow the steps below:  

  •   Verify that your child is enrolled in a Title I school for the 2021–2022 school year. 
  •   Verify that your child is a rising kindergarten through 8th grade student for the 2021–2022 school year. 

If you have additional questions about enrolling your school child, please contact your child's school directly.     

Interested in employment with the ELO Title I program?

Staffing allocations for ELO will include clerical support staff members, paraeducators, and teachers. Staff members interested in employment opportunities are encouraged to visit MCPS Careers beginning April 19th. Positions can be offered to candidates beginning on May 14th. Principals will make final staffing decisions in accordance with summer hiring guidelines.  

Summer Volunteer Opportunities
