Agenda Item: 8.1 Superintendent’s Recommendation on Secondary Program Analysis and Boundary Studies

On the Boundary Study website, data tables are included with each option. A request was made for similar data tables to be provided for the Superintendent's Non-Recommended Alternate Scenario of opening Crown as a new high school #27. What are the data tables available for the Superintendent's non-recommended option of opening "New School #27"?

Agenda Item: 8.3 Strengthening Math in MCPS

• The Maryland State Board of Education adopted Revised Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS) for Mathematics on July 29, 2025 which will necessitate revisions to the PreK-8 math curricula as well as revised Integrated Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 courses. In light of these anticipated changes the BoE asked the following questions:
  
  * What training and support will educators teaching the updated math curriculum aligned to the revised MCCRS for Mathematics receive? 
  
  * What opportunities will the community have to learn about the curricular changes in PreK-8 math, integrated Algebra 1, and integrated Algebra 2 necessitated by the realignment to the new revised MCCRS for Mathematics? 
  
  * How will MCPS evaluate the implementation of revised PreK-8 math curriculum and Integrated Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 courses?
  
  * What should students "proficient" on the revised MCCRS for Mathematics know and be able to do?
