MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
A Maryland Public Information Act (MPIA) request is a formal legal request for access to existing public records maintained by a government agency, including documents, emails, reports, or other records related to public business.
MPIA requests are governed by Maryland law and may involve formal review, redactions, timelines, and applicable fees for search, preparation, and copying of records. An information request, by contrast, is typically a general question or request for publicly available information that can often be answered by reviewing information on the MCPS website, contacting the Public Information Office, or speaking directly with a school principal or staff member.
Before submitting a request, please review our online resources. Many commonly requested records and reports are already available online.
Montgomery County Public Schools alumni in need of a transcript or a replacement diploma have three options for obtaining the document(s): Please visit the Central Records website for information, contact information and request forms.
If you graduated or withdrew less than five years ago, contact your former school to obtain your transcript and/or school records.
