Agenda Item: 8.3 Strengthening Math in MCPS

• The Maryland State Board of Education adopted Revised Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS) for Mathematics on July 29, 2025 which will necessitate revisions to the PreK-8 math curricula as well as revised Integrated Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 courses. In light of these anticipated changes the BoE asked the following questions:
  
  * What training and support will educators teaching the updated math curriculum aligned to the revised MCCRS for Mathematics receive? -Answer Pending
  
  * What opportunities will the community have to learn about the curricular changes in PreK-8 math, integrated Algebra 1, and integrated Algebra 2 necessitated by the realignment to the new revised MCCRS for Mathematics? -Answer Pending
