School assignment letters for current 8th grade students who live within the NEC boundary area were mailed during the second week of January 2020.
Current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students who are interested in requesting a Change of Choice to another Northeast consortia high school may complete the Change of Choice form. Forms need to be submitted to the DCCAPS office by Friday, February 14, 2020. For question please refer to the FAQ.
An appeal process is in place for those who may have a unique and verifiable hardship or unforeseen circumstances that could warrant override the school assignment process. To appeal, you must submit a letter explaining the reason for the request to the director of DCCAPS. Appeals can be mailed to 11721 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring MD 20902 or faxed to 301-649-8155. Please include your students name, MCPS ID number, parent/guardian signature, and phone number. Appeals are due by Friday, April 3, 2020. Please review the Appeal Information Letter and Optional Appeal Form.
