Using a Promethean Board as a UDL Tool

Online Self Study Project

UDL, or universal design for learning, is a framework that helps teachers present instruction for ALL students without having to retrofit, or create separate learning experiences for struggling students. A Promethean Board is an excellent tool for this purpose. Make the most out of your board and earn 3 E-TIPS hours at the same time.

Specific Project Tasks

  1. Spend some time learning about universal design for learning (UDL) by reviewing the UDL Resources on the HIAT website.
  2. Create a resource in Activestudio or ActiveInspire that uses the principles of UDL to include all students in learning.
  3. Share your resource with other teachers by uploading it to the Instruction Center.
Your resource can be simple as long as it supports a UDL Principle.  It should not take a long time to make.  The purpose here is to demonstrate understanding of how a UDL lens helps you create learning materials for your students and to share with fellow teachers.
