The selection process for the before and after school childcare services, previously managed by the Montgomery County Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF), is now overseen directly by Montgomery County Public Schools. However, the administration of the program remains under CUPF’s oversight, as designated by the Board under Board Resolution No. 19-13, Delegation of Authority—Administration of Before- and After-School Child Care Programs, adopted on January 8, 2013, and as outlined in MCPS Regulation KGA-RA, Community Use of Public Schools.
MCPS has implemented a new provider selection process. The goals of the updated approach to the selection process include ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment with MCPS priorities; and including in its process: community input, uniform evaluation of provider qualifications, and formal selection by a committee.
