The English Manor site occupies 8.25 acres. The parcel is bordered by Bestor Drive on the south, Dabney Drive on the north, and single family residential lots on the east and west. Vehicular access to the school is currently from Bestor Drive. The site is home to a former elementary school that was occupied by MCPS up until 1980. The school was closed in 1980 and sold to Montgomery County. From 1981 to 1998, the County leased the building to Creative Education Associates. The building was then leased to the Childrens Learning Center from 1998 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015 the site was leased to The School For Tomorrow.

MCPS has recently taken back the property from the County and it is being used by MCPS as office space. The first floor of the facility is currently occupied by MCPS and the remainder of the building is being retrofitted into office space to be occupied by MCPS.

The programs that will occupy the building are as follows:

  • Montgomery County Infants and Toddlers Program
    • Early intervention for families with young children with developmental or special needs. Intervention is provided at the child’s home or community setting.
  • Developmental Evaluation Services for Children
    • Evaluates preschool children to determine eligibility for special education services
  • Child Find
    • Provides screenings for all children in Montgomery County to determine developmental or other disabilities.
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing
    • Provides comprehensive services for children from birth through graduation for children with educationally significant hearing loss
  • Psychological Services
    • Offices for school psychologists and psychological services for MCPS.
  • School Plant Operation
    • Provides training for building service members for proper building and equipment maintenance.
