Students are encouraged to check out the following scholarship opportunities available through their high school College and Career Centers. Additional scholarships and awards can be searched through several comprehensive online databases as well as through the Financial Aid Offices of the colleges and universities under consideration.

Alfred Street Baptist Church Educational Foundation Scholarship 1/31/22 Seniors with a 2.75 GPA or better who are U.S. citizens and meet financial need requirements. Must have demonstrated a commitment to community service and be accepted to a four-year college/university following graduation.
AllTrucking Women in Trucking Scholarship 1/31/22 Female high school graduates, including DACA recipients, who are pursuing a career in the transportation industry.
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Ivy Vine Charities Scholarship 2/25/22 Seniors with a 2.7 GPA or better who have demonstrated participation in school activities and community. Must be accepted to 4-year college/university or Montgomery College. Several scholarship opportunities available.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Ira Dorsey Scholarship 4/30/22 Male seniors with a 2.5 GPA or better who are planning to attend a 4-year college/university.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Paul Robeson Scholarship 3/19/22 Male seniors planning to attend a 2 or 4-year U.S. accredited college/university in the fall following graduation. Merit scholarship awarded to 3.4 GPA or better; need-based scholarship awarded to 2.5 GPA or better.
Alpha Wives Club Scholarship 2/28/22 MCPS seniors with a 2.5 GPA or better who have demonstrated participation in school activities and community and are planning to attend an HBCU college/university. Must be US citizen.
American Chemical Society Scholars 3/1/22 Underrepresented minority seniors with financial need who are planning to pursue a degree in the chemical sciences; minimum 3.0 GPA in chemistry or science.
Americanism Essay Contest 12/1/22 Essay contest for students in grades 7-12 to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism. Essay must be submitted through an FRA member or branch.
American Indian College Fund 5/31/22 Seniors who are Native American U.S. citizens with a 2.0 GPA or better who are seeking degrees at tribal colleges and other nonprofit accredited schools.
American Indian Graduate Center varies Seniors who are planning to attend a U.S. accredited college/university full-time and can meet the specific Tribal affiliation requirements.
Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship 1/26/22 Seniors of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity with a 2.7 GPA or better who are planning to attend a U.S. accredited college/university.
Association of School Business Officials of Maryland (MD ASBO) Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarship 3/1/22 Seniors who have resided in Maryland for at least one year who demonstrate financial need and have a 2.0 GPA or better. Must be planning to pursue a career in business or education at an accredited college/university in Maryland.
Bernie Scholarship Awards Program 3/1/22 Seniors with financial need, a 2.0 GPA or better, who live in Montgomery County and receive housing assistance. Preference given to those with demonstrated community service and/or planning to pursue a degree in public service.
BigSun Scholarship 6/19/22 Senior athletes engaged in any sport.
Blacks in Government DOL Scholarship 3/15/22 Seniors with a 2.0 GPA or better.
Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship 3/15/22 Seniors of African descent with a 3.3 GPA or better who are planning to attend a 4-year college/university. Must be planning to pursue a degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or similar business program. Students must have demonstrated a passion for technology and leadership at school or community..
Carson Scholars Fund 1/14/22 Students in grades 4-11 with a 3.75 GPA or better with demonstrated involvement in community service. Students must be nominated by school to compete for this scholarship.
Children of Fallen Patriots Scholarship varies Students of military personnel who have lost a parent in the line of duty or service connection. Scholarships may include expenses related to college entry tests and fees, educational counseling, and tutoring.
College JumpStart Scholarship 4/15/22 and 10/15/22 Students in grades 10-12 who are planning to attend an accredited 2 or 4-year college/university, or a vocational/trade school in the U.S. Must have demonstrated community service and/or volunteering.
Cooke College Scholarship 11/18/21 Seniors with a 3.5 GPA or better who are planning to attend an accredited 4-year college/university. Must meet financial need requirements.
Create Real Impact Scholarship 4/28/22 Full-time students ages 14-22.
Cynthia E. Morgan Memorial Scholarship 3/14/22 Juniors or seniors residing in Maryland who plan to attend an accredited Maryland college, university, trade school, or medical school. Must pursue a degree in a medical or medical-related field and be the first person in his/her immediate family to attend a post-secondary institution.

Edward T. & Mary A. Conroy Memorial Scholarship 7/15/22 MD residents who are the child or stepchild of a member of the US Armed Forces who died or became disabled as a result of military service; must enroll at a 2 or 4-year MD college/university as a degree seeking student.
Elizabeth Ann First Memorial Scholarship 4/22/22 Seniors who live a tobacco-free lifestyle and have demonstrated a commitment to anti-smoking advocacy.
Elks Skilled Trades Scholarship 4/15/22 Students planning to pursue a two year associate degree, certificate, or diploma.
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship 11/15/22 Seniors who are U.S. citizens and are pursuing a 4-year degree full-time at an accredited U.S. college/university. Applicants must take the ACT and/or SAT on or before October 5, 2019. Female and male applicants compete separately and are judged on leadership and financial need.
Esperanza Fund Scholarship 4/1/22 Seniors who were born outside of the US or are children of parents born outside of the US. Scholarship based on financial need.
Fort Meade Officers' Spouses' Club Scholarships 4/23/22 Several scholarships available for seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better and planning on enrolling full-time at an accredited college/university. Must have a connection to Fort Meade by residence or parent/guardian military affiliation. Application information
Foundation 649 Scholarship 3/1/22 Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) seniors with financial need who plan to attend an accredited college/university in the fall following graduation. Must have involvement and interest in AAPI communities, issues, or causes.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship 1/6/22 Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better who have demonstrated the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Must be U.S. citizen and be planning to attend full-time at a U.S. accredited 4-year college/university in the fall following graduation.

Herb Block Scholarship 6/1/22 and 11/10/22 Seniors with financial need, living in the Metro DC area who are planning to attend one of the participating community colleges.
Herbert Lehman Scholarship 4/1/22 Seniors who have a combined family income of $65,000 or less, a record of academic achievement and have demonstrated a commitment to public service.
Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards 11/14/21 Seniors of Hispanic Heritage with a 3.0 GPA or better and planning to pursue a 4-year degree in various academic majors.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund 3/1/22 Seniors of Hispanic Heritage with a 3.0 GPA or better applying to a not-for-profit 4-year university with strong consideration for applicants pursuing STEM degrees.
Horatio Alger National & State Scholarship 3/15/22 Two opportunities available for juniors with financial need who have overcome significant adversity, are involved in community service activities, have a 2.0 GPA or better, and are planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US college/university.

Imagine America Scholarship Varies Seniors graduating within the scholarship program year who are interested in attending a trade school or career college in MD. Must have financial need, a 2.5 GPA or better, and demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year.

McDaniel College Educator's Legacy Scholarship Rolling applications Seniors who are children of K-12 and community college educators. Must complete the full admission process and be admitted to McDaniel College as full-time degree seeking student.

National Action Council For Minorities in Engineering (NACME) varies Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better who are planning to apply to an engineering or computer science program at a NACME Partner Institution. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
National Association for Education of Homeless Children and Youth Scholarship 5/28/21 Seniors must be homeless (as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act) or have been homeless at any time during their school attendance.

Science Ambassador Scholarship 12/13/21 Female seniors who plan to pursue a degree in STEM related fields at a U.S. college/university.
Sherry S. Hintz Scholarship Fund 4/1/22 Juniors or seniors who have lost a parent/guardian to breast or ovarian cancer; with a 3.0 GPA or better; demonstrated financial need; and involvement as a leader in a school, community or athletic activity.

Students must be actively serving as a leader in an elected or appointed capacity in student government or an approved civic or educational organization during the entire school year.
USDA/1890 National Scholars 2/15/22 Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or better; accepted for admission to an 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant University; demonstrated leadership and community service; intending to study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences or related fields.
Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship 3/1/22 Seniors whose parents are veterans, reserve, or active duty member of the Armed Forces and served at least 60 days in the Afghanistan or Iraq conflicts.
VFW Voice of Democracy 10/31/22 Students in grades 9-12 submit a written and recorded democratic and patriotic themed essay.
VSA International Young Soloists Award 3/14/22 Students ages 14-25 who have a disability and are soloists or part of an ensemble of any genre or instrument, including voice. In addition to a monetary award, scholarship winners receive the opportunity to perform and participate in professional development and music coaching activities provided by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
We The Students Scholarship Essay Contest 4/15/22 Students in grades 8-12. An 800-word limit, well-written essay that completely adheres to the topic and fully answers all parts of the prompt is required.
