Change of Choice for 2012-2013
For students currently in Grades 9, 10, 11 requesting a change to one of the other Northeast Consortium (NEC) high schools for next year, the Change of Choice Request Form for 2011-2012 is now available in school counseling offices. Completed forms must be signed by the parent and turned in by the deadline, Friday, February 17. Forms may be returned to the student's school counselor or to the DCCAPS office by FAX: 301-649-8155 or mail: DCCAPS, 11721 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20902.
Current NEC students who submitted a Change of Choice Request Form will be sent notification letters by the end of March.

High School Assignments will be mailed in late January 2012
Information about high school registration, Round 2, and appeals is included in the letters.
Round 2 of the Choice Process
The following Grade 8 students who live within the NEC area are eligible to participate in Round 2 of the high school Choice process:
- Students who did not get their first choice in Round 1--
Students should submit a statement signed by their parent to the DCCAPS office by Friday, February 17, 2012 requesting participation in Round 2. Please include the student's first and last name, student ID, and the current school. Original choices will be re-entered. Re-entry of choices does not guarantee first choice in Round 2.- Students on transfer to an NEC school--
Students will receive a Choice form by mail. Submit the completed form to the DCCAPS office by Friday, February 17, 2012.- Students new to the NEC area since November 7, 2011--

Parent Registration Information Night
The High School Registration Information meeting for current Grade 8 students and their parents will be held at the student's assigned Northeast Consortium high school on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. (Snow date: Tuesday, February 21, 2012)
Grade 9 registration cards are due to middle school counselors on Friday, February 17. (Snow date: Wednesday, February 22, 2012)
Evening activity cancellations due to weather conditions are posted on the MCPS home page at www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org.
