Welcome to the Visual Arts Center

The MCPS Visual Art Center (VAC) is a nationally recognized, pre-college

countywide "by application" art portfolio development program supported

by the Montgomery County Board of Education and MCPS since 1974.

The VAC's 4 year curriculum is designed to grow the creative talents

and minds of students from 9th to 12th grade and to prepare them

to submit one or more AP Studio Art Exam Portfolios

while developing their own personal artist style.

Students use their unique portfolios for

college application, AP credit and scholarship.

In the last 15 years VAC students have received

more than $25 million dollars in scholarship offers.

The VAC was established by the BOE & MCPS and is located

at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland.
