PGS Hosting Workshops for Teachers, Administrators
The Department of Professional Growth Systems (PGS) is committed to mentoring and developing the capacity of more than 25,000 staff members and welcoming and training new staff through comprehensive, continuous opportunities. Its latest series of learning events for teachers and school administrators, called The Educators Thrive Workshop Series, is being offered with nationally recognized educational leaders.

Cultivating Resilience in Yourself and Your Communities: Join this empowering session with Elena Aguilar as she offers essential knowledge and expertise, along with effective strategies to enhance resilience, especially during times of crisis and change. This workshop is designed to fortify your career in education for the long haul, equipping you to make enduring contributions and effectively support the varied needs of your students.

Living a Hip Hop & Abolitionist Life: Join this inspiring session with Dr. Bettina Love as she explores pathways to foster lasting sustainable change within school communities through innovation, imagination and ingenuity. Discover how educators can make meaningful strides to address the diverse needs of their students. Guests will gain invaluable insights, expertise and effective strategies for leveraging civics education and abolitionist teaching to cultivate inclusive environments where every student is valued and empowered.

The Educators Thrive Keynote Series Flyer, 2024
Last month, the department hosted 150 supporting services staff members for the second annual Professional Learning Symposium on topics, such as: Understanding Neurodiversity for Supporting Services Staff; Clear and Concise Communication in the Workplace; Equity Centered Trauma-Informed Approach; Effective Communication & Family Engagement; and Emotional Intelligence. This event was held in collaboration with the Employee Assistance Program and the Educational Systems Federal Credit Union.
