Join Us This Saturday, Aug. 26 for the Annual Back-to-School Fair

MCPS is hosting its annual Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton mall. This free event will feature family-friendly activities and entertainment, as well as information and resources from the school system and from county programs and services.
Dozens of MCPS offices and departments will be present, along with government agencies and community partners. The fair will include: interactive activities for kids and families; live entertainment, including a DJ and Zumba dance performance; free Kaiser Mobile health screenings; free immunizations for children 5 years old and up; and health and wellness resources, including many focused on mental health. Community partners on hand will include KID Museum; local theater companies, including Olney Theatre Center, Round House Theatre and Adventure Theatre; the Montgomery County Recreation Department; Montgomery County Public Libraries; Montgomery County Council of PTAs and Parent Encouragement Program.
The fair will take place on the mall’s outdoor upper level in the area known as The Streetery, and in the mall’s North parking lot.
MCPS will offer free, round-trip shuttle buses between the fair and the following MCPS high schools: Montgomery Blair, Paint Branch, Gaithersburg and Richard Montgomery. The first shuttle will depart from high schools at 9 a.m. and the last one will leave Westfield Wheaton at 2 p.m. The mall is located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.
