Student-Athlete Leadership Council

The 2023-2024 Student-Athlete Leadership Council held the annual Kickoff Meeting on September 12, 2023. Student-athletes from all 25 MCPS high schools were represented at this meeting. SALC provides student voice regarding the administration of the MCPS interscholastic athletics program. The SALC theme of the year, It’s Cool to Be Kind! #WeRAISE

 

NEW! Fall Corollary Sport - Pickleball

The Department of Athletics is piloting a new fall corollary sport, Pickleball, at the following eleven high schools:

  • Bethesda-Chevy Chase
  • Montgomery Blair
  • James Hubert Blake
  • Clarksburg
  • John F. Kennedy
  • Richard Montgomery
  • Quince Orchard
  • Sherwood
  • Springbrook
  • Watkins Mill
  • Wheaton

All schools are still currently recruiting players. Please see your local school athletics specialist to register. 

 

Fall Season County Championships

Cheerleading – 10/28, at Montgomery Blair HS:

  • Division I – 8:00 p.m.
  • Division II – 5:00 p.m.
  • Division III – 2:00 p.m.

Cross Country – 10/21, at Bohrer Park, 10:50 a.m.

Field Hockey – 10/23, at Paint Branch HS, 6:00 pm

Soccer – 10/23 at Seneca Valley HS

  • Boys’ 5:30 p.m.
  • Girls’ 7:15 p.m.

Girls’ Volleyball – 11/1, at Quince Orchard HS, 6:00 p.m.
