Public Resources for Education-Related Data

The information below provides locations where publically available data and reports can be accessed. The first section includes research and data specific to MCPS and the remaining sections include national and state-level data.

Montgomery County Public Schools

OpenDataMCPS is a web portal that provides searchable budget, school, and performance data for Montgomery County Public Schools:

The Annual Report to the Community for the 2016-2017 school year tells the story of MCPS — the factors that are driving change in our district; the strategies we are using to close the achievement gap and prepare our students for success in the 21st century; and the operational and student performance data we use to monitor our progress:

Schools at a Glance provides, in a single document, information about enrollment, staffing, facilities, programs, outcome measures, and personnel costs for each school. Personnel costs include position salaries for professional and supporting services employees and employee benefits costs related to positions. Summaries are also included for the county and by level.

The Gallup student poll is a survey of students in grades 5 through 12 that measures hope, engagement and well-being — actionable targets linked to student achievement, retention and future employment. Employee engagement also was measured by a survey developed jointly by Gallup and MCPS. An employee's level of engagement links to various school outcomes, including employee retention, parent engagement, student retention, and student achievement.

The School Environment Surveys include the Parent Engagement Survey. The Parent Engagement Survey is about MCPS parents' experiences with our students' school and education.
