Effective July 1, 2025, 12-month employees will have their annual pension contributions deducted from 26 paychecks during the year, to include the summer months. Currently, all MCPS employees, regardless of work schedule, have their annual pension contributions deducted from 20 paychecks, with no contributions during the summer. The total pension contribution employees make is not changing. The deductions will be spread over 26 instead of 20 paychecks, resulting in slightly larger paychecks during the school year, and smaller ones in the summer.
