Important Changes to Critical Deadlines

Critical Deadlines Pushed Back

Employees who are part of the MCEA bargaining unit have until April 24, 2020, to submit their retirement or resignation forms. to receive a 35 percent sick leave payout. The original deadline was April 1, 2020. To be eligible for a 35 percent sick leave payout, MCEA bargaining unit members should have worked at least five full school years and should either be resigning at the end of the school year or retiring as of July 1.

The deadline for SEIU bargaining unit members to submit an application for student debt relief has been extended to April 24, 2020.

Employees who are part of the MCEA bargaining unit and on non-illness-related long-term leave have until April 15, 2020, to notify ERSC of their decision for the next school year. The original deadline was April 1, 2020.

Employees submitting long-term leave applications for the next school year have until April 10, 2020, to submit their application.

Employee and Retiree Benefit Deadlines

Employees with questions related to health benefit deadlines and document submission should email ERSC. These include any questions about employees’ inability to obtain birth certificates for newborns, marriage certificates, or Medicare enrollments.
