Employee Benefits Open Enrollment to Be Held
October 8–November 2, 2018

Open Enrollment is your chance to review your employee benefits options, make changes to your existing benefits, and enroll in a flexible spending account (FSA). It also is your chance to attest to whether or not you and your spouse will be tobacco free throughout 2018. Be prepared for Open Enrollment by—

  • Attending an Open Enrollment Benefit Fair to learn about available health plans. Dates, times, and locations are on the Employee Benefits Open Enrollment web page.
  • Making sure you can access your MCPS Outlook e-mail account. Need help? Visit myID or contact the MCPS Help Desk.
  • Checking your MCPS Outlook e-mail on Friday, October 5, 2018, for the annual Open Enrollment e-mail with links to all of the information you will need for Open Enrollment.

Remember: If you will be covered by an MCPS-provided medical insurance plan in 2019, you MUST attest online to whether or not you and your spouse will be tobacco free throughout 2018. If you do not attest for you and your spouse or attest to one or both of you NOT being tobacco free throughout 2018, you will be charged a 25 percent surcharge on the total cost of your health insurance in 2019. Instructions for making your attestation(s) will be included in the Open Enrollment e-mail you receive on October 5.

Tobacco users: MCPS will waive the tobacco-user surcharge for 2019 if you complete the Quit for Good tobacco cessation program by the end of 2018. Learn more.
