All MCPS students must earn 75 SSL hours to graduate from high school. Middle school and high school students should continue earning SSL hours towards their SSL graduation requirement by engaging in SSL opportunities during the 2025-2026 school year. Calling all MCPS middle and high school students! The Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT) and the Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association (MCR) are sponsoring a Public Service Announcement (PSA) competition focused on road safety and how to keep yourself and others safe on the roads. Participants who submit a quality PSA that supports the theme “Step Up for Road Safety” and meets the competition requirements will earn 10 SSL hours and have a chance to win Amazon gift cards. Students to Get Involved: Join the Student Election Committee! Join the Student Election Committee (SEC) and help shape the next Student Member of the Board (SMOB) election! This is your opportunity to be one of the 40+ student leaders (6-12) who work behind the scenes to make sure the election is fair and transparent. Applications are due September 8, 2025.
