Accelerated and Enriched Programs in Middle School

Gifted and Talented Supports at All Schools

Students whose motivation, outstanding talent, performance, or potential for performing at high levels of accomplishment are identified at the local school level to receive accelerated and enriched instruction. Each school has instruction tailored for students identified as gifted and talented.

Magnet Programs

Two program models, offered at three sites. Students from across the county may apply to programs, by geographic cluster.

Humanities and Communication

Develops students' abilities to use language and media effectively. 

Mathematics, Science, Computer Science

Features an interdisciplinary problem-solving approach to the disciplines of math, science, and computer science.

Local School Programs

International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP)

This local International Baccalaureate (IB) program is available to students who are enrolled in certain middle schools.

Gifted and Talented Learning Disabled Services

Support in the home school or at Roberto Clemente, Col. E. Brooke Lee, or North Bethesda Middle School.

WINGS Program

 Mentoring program for gifted/learning disabled students and highly able students who are not succeeding in the regular classroom.
