“Silent War: Asian American Reckonings with Mental Health” Movie Screening and Discussion

On Jan. 23, Montgomery County Public Schools in partnership with Asian American Health Initiative, Montgomery County Government (DHHS) will have a brief movie screening of the film, Silent Wars, followed by reflection from one of the individuals in the film, and a moderated panel discussion. Community resource tables will be available for students, parents, and community members. “Silent War” is a documentary that profiles members of the Asian American community who share personal battles with mental illness. The event is a part of the county's effort to bring awareness to the stigma of mental health in the Asian American community and provide resources. 

Students can earn SSL hours .
