Three Students Win $3,000 LEAAP Scholarships

Three MCPS students have received $3,000 scholarships from the League of Educators for Asian American Progress (LEAAP). The students were honored for their level of scholarship and their interest in pursuing a career in education.

They were recognized during the May 23 Board of Education meeting. They are:

• Asma Abbas, Watkins Mill High School
• Dwarakesh Baraneetharan, Northwest High School
• Waverly Nakashima, Thomas S. Wootton High School
