Educational Foundation Offering Project Grants to Staff

The MCPS Educational Foundation is offering small grants to support staff, educators, administrators and schools.

Grants of up to $2,000 are available for individual projects by individual departments, schools and staff, and up to $5,000 for collaborative projects for multiple departments or schools.

Apply for all grant opportunities through one online applicationThe application deadline is Monday, April 15. Early applications are encouraged; the Foundation will review and grant awards on a rolling basis. Grantees must use funds by June 30, 2024.

Funding will be awarded to projects that advance its mission of ensuring all students succeed in school. Sample projects include:

  • Developing curriculum and supports that prioritize equitable access, including differentiated learning experiences, joy of learning opportunities and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Strengthening MCPS community, caregiver, family and guardian connections.
  • Developing strength, sustainability, scale, scope, evaluation, planning and/or collaborative opportunities for new and existing projects.
  • Providing materials to advance student learning.
  • Facilitating collaborative staff professional development, including mentoring, shared learning and trainings.
  • Supporting cross-trainings and collaborative efforts, such as transportation, paraprofessionals or other support professional involvement in planning, educational initiatives and community-facing events.

The Foundation will hold virtual office hours for MCPSEF Small Grants from 10–11 a.m. on Fridays through the application cycle to answer questions and provide application tips.
