MCPS students can engage and access several different experiences through leadership, service and extracurricular activities. Students are encouraged to participate at the school level and visit this website for additional learning experiences and information, which are often student led. New content and information will be updated throughout the course of the school year.

The MCPS extracurricular and fine arts programs fully resumed in-person operations in the fall within the guidelines of Montgomery County Public Schools’ current procedures and protocols for COVID-19 safety. Students, staff, and guests will be expected to follow the MCPS mitigation strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
MCPS curriculum and instructional office staff have created a guidance document that is content focused but shares appropriate considerations and expectations for COVID-19 safety for in-person engagement. Dance ensembles, drama clubs, choral and instrumental music programs are expected to follow specific guidelines for COVID-19 safety. Singing and instrumental music produced by woodwind or brass instruments are thought to be higher-risk activities for COVID-19 spread due to the aggressive expelling of respiratory droplets. Extra precautions will be expected for vocalists and instrumental musicians when participating.

All students participating in the MCPS extracurricular activities program, must submit all required documentation to their school sponsor(s). The following items are required due to COVID-19:

MCPS wishes to recognize secondary students for commitment in participation in a wide range of MCPS Athletic and Extracurricular Activities. Students will be recognized for various levels of commitment, as outlined below, with the MCPS Certificate of Student Engagement.

If you have a personal or professional skill that you would like to share with your MCPS peers, you can submit your own! Students can earn 10 SSL hours for successful submission of all items identified in the Student-To-Student Extracurricular Series Form. You may see yours posted here!
