The Office of Human Resources and Development (OHRD) with the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is responsible for conducting a fingerprint review of individuals who are seeking employment, as well as those wishing to serve in the capacity of volunteer, chaperone, coach, advisor, student teacher or intern, and contractors or vendors. Such background checks are necessary to ensure a safe and secure learning and working environment.

MCPS conducts a federal and state fingerprint background review on all individuals seeking employment, as well as those wishing to serve as a volunteer, chaperone, coach, advisor, student teacher or intern.
Results must be received, reviewed, and approved prior to an individual beginning in any capacity.
Fingerprinting appointments must be scheduled online. No appointments will be scheduled by phone, email, or drop-in. Individuals should arrive fifteen (15) minutes in advance for paperwork processing. Individuals arriving late may be required to reschedule.
Our fingerprinting office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. The fingerprinting office follows MCPS' approved school calendar, including delays and closures for inclement weather and other emergencies.
The fingerprinting processing fee is $54.00 with a service fee of $2.03. Cash is not accepted. The cost of fingerprinting cannot be refunded, reduced, or waived. The following are the only accepted forms of payment:
