Do you need help logging in because you have forgotten your password? Would you like to be able to reset your own password and immediately be able to log in?
Welcome to myID, our MCPS password management system!
On this website you can find answers to frequently asked questions and learn more about myID.
During May 2010, all current MCPS staff will be e-mailed a letter with instructions on how to log in to myID with their current MCPS username and will be given a one-time temporary password for myID. You will use the temporary password to log in to myID for the first time.
New MCPS staff members will be e-mailed their username and temporary password when they have accepted employment with MCPS. If you are a new employee, you will use the username and password to log in to myID for the first time.
You can log in to myID from home or at work using the web address https://myID.mcpsmd.org or by selecting the myID shortcuts on the staff page of the MCPS website or on your computer desktop.
After you log in, you will be prompted to answer 5 challenge questions.
If you forget your password, you will be able to use these questions and answers to identify yourself and to reset your password.
IMPORTANT: If you do not set up challenge questions and answers you will not be able to retrieve your password if you ever forget it.
After you set up your challenge questions, you will be prompted to change your temporary password to a new password that meets MCPS security standards. All applications that use the MCPS username and password will be changed to use the NEW myID password.
Your new myID password will replace your current password for most MCPS applications, including myMCPS, Outlook, MCPS Careers, and ePaystub. Refer to a list of which applications use myID.
If you are at work, log out of your workstation and log back in with your username and new myID password. If you are at an off-site location or working from home, log out of all applications that use myID and log back in with your username and new myID password.
Every 120 days you will be required to change your myID password. At 106 days, you will receive daily email reminders that your password is about to expire. You will change your password using the change password function of myID. You will need to log in with your MCPS username and password, select the My Account link on the left and then select the Change Password link on the left.
