New information for the 2020-2021 school year is here!

The admissions process for the Centers for Enriched Studies will open in second semester.  The admissions process uses multiple criteria and begins with the universal review of each Grade 3 student. Parents and their Grade 3 student will receive information and admission information directly in January 2021.  Parents are encouraged to learn more about the enriched and accelerated opportunities at your local elementary school.

  • Elementary schools that currently house a regional program include Lucy V. Barnsley, Chevy Chase, Clearspring, Cold Spring, Dr. Charles R. Drew, Fox Chapel, Mill Creek Towne, Oak View and Pine Crest.

  • Elementary schools that currently house a local program include:  Rachel Carson, Piney Branch, Spark Matsunaga, and Stonegate.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on school operations, the admissions process and timeline for the 2021-22 middle school regional programs at Eastern, Roberto Clemente, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Takoma Park middle schools may be adjusted. Additional information is below.

Results of the Grade 5 universal review and lottery were mailed on Monday, February 22, 2021 via US postal service. See below for FAQS.
