Program Overview

What

Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Adventures in Learning (ELO SAIL) and Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Title 1 Enrichment Programs (ELO STEP) are Montgomery County Public Schools' (MCPS) summer programs offered at federally funded Title I schools for a four week period.  Breakfast and lunch are provided for ELO students and volunteers under the age of 18 years old.  Volunteers will work under the supervision of a teacher to provide classroom support and assist with other activities.

Volunteers will be assigned to work in either of the ELO programs:

  • ELO SAIL is a program offered to students in grades K-2 that will reinforce and enhance academic skills;
  • ELO STEP is a program offered to students in grades 3-4 that provides accelerated and enriched instruction.
