Over 61,000 MCPS students receive free & reduced-price meals and many families struggle to afford basic necessities like school supplies. Now more than ever, in recovering from the global pandemic, more students are going to need help accessing school supplies. Your donation plays a critical role in helping ALL students thrive academically, while helping to support beginning of the school years costs for a parent in need.
For just $10, you can provide a student in need with a backpack filled with school supplies, which could include paper, pencils/pens, crayons/colored pencils, a glue stick, binder, and more. Your donation will help provide students with the necessary supplies to engage successfully in their lessons.

The MCPS GIVE BACKpacks campaign pivoted last year to accommodate the remote learning environment. Through the generosity of businesses, foundations, associations, faith-based organizations, educational institutions, staff, and community members, MCPS provided 26,111 students with school supplies for virtual learning!
For as little as $10, you can provide a student with school supplies in three ways: online credit card, mail a check, or text message. Contributions are tax deductible and the MCPS GIVE BACKpacks campaign accepts donations in any amount year round.

Please send your check or money order made payable to the MCPS Educational Foundation, Inc. and acknowledge your donation to GIVE BACKpacks (you may include the name of a school if you wish to designate your donation by writing GIVE BACKpacks - name of school) and send to:
