The 2003 Montgomery County Public Schools Media Festival showcase will be held on Thursday, April 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Center, 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, Maryland. The public is welcome to attend the exhibits of student work.
The purpose of the festival is to help students become effective users of ideas and information through the creation of high quality media productions in a variety of formats.There are seven competition categories in this year's festival, including video, animation, multimedia, sequential stills, websites, graphic design, and still photography.
There were hundreds of submissions in the still photography competition. More than 160 students from 18 different elementary, middle and high schools worked individually or in groups to submit 52 different entries in the other categories. Awards for first, second, and third place will be given in each category.
