Welcome to Redland Middle School's Back to School resource page for the 2025--2026 school year. This page will contain the information you need to make sure that your child is ready for the school year. This page will be updated throughout the summer as we receive information that we need to share with you.

Events
- Sixth Grade/New Student Orientation and 6th Grade Ice Cream Social :
- Thursday, August 20st @ 6:00pm.
- 2026 - 2027 Orientation for incoming 6th graders ONLY.
- 6th grade students will receive their locker information and have the opportunity to decorate their lockers.
- Back to School Night: Thursday, September 10th from 5:30 - 8:00 pm
Cell Phones
- This school year, all Montgomery County Public Schools will be restricting the use of cell phones during school hours. These restrictions are in alignment with the Maryland Phone-Free School Act (HB 525).
- Effective the first day of school, which is Transition Day, August 24, 2026, all students are not permitted to utilize personal mobile devices (cell phones, tablets, e-readers, personal laptops, smart watches, smart glasses, and anything with a microphone, camera, speaker, or headphones/earbuds (including AirPods) during the instructional day. This includes during lunch and in the hallways as students transition to class.

The Annotated Code of Maryland (10.06.04.03) states that all Maryland students who are new to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and those entering Grade 7, are required to provide documentation of required vaccinations or a medical or religious exemption. This documentation is required within the first 20 days of school.

Transportation
- Find Your Route! Bus Info Coming Mid August!
Bus routes for the 2025–2026 school year will be available Mid August. Visit the Division of Transportation Services website to find your route and get set for the first day of school! The link to your school bus routes will also be available on individual school websites. - Redland Bus Information

Safety Resources
- 2026 - 2027 Bus Routes will be available using Synergy starting Mid August.
- Redland Middle School’s crossing guard is on duty at the crossing walk during the following times:
- 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
- 2:55 p.m. – 3:25 p.m.
- During early release days, the crossing guard will be on duty from 12:25 p.m.- 12:55 p.m.
- There is no crossing guard to support after school activities
