Make your voice heard on the MCPS Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Recommended Operating Budget. It is critical that our elected leaders hear from you about the essential role school plays in your students’ lives, and the importance of giving students access to the opportunities and resources they need to be successful. Here is a budget timeline and upcoming meetings where you can provide input:
- Thursday, Feb. 19: BOE tentatively adopts the operating budget.
- Friday, March 13: Montgomery County Executive releases his FY 2027 operating budget recommendations.
- April: Montgomery County Council will hold public hearings on the budget.
- April–May: County Council/Education and Culture Committee will hold work sessions.
- Thursday, May 21: County Council takes action on the operating budget.
- Thursday, June 25: Board of Education’s final adoption of the operating budget.
Other Important Dates: Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando will hold listening sessions on the MCPS operating budget. Jawando is chair of the council’s Education and Culture Committee.
Save the dates: 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25 (on Zoom); Wednesday, March 4 (Rockville High School) and Wednesday, March 11 (Albert Einstein High School).
