Planning Summer Travel? Fall Sports Tryouts Begin Around Aug. 12

Although temperatures have been bone-chilling, some of you are starting to plan summer vacations! Keep in mind that fall sports tryouts may begin Wednesday, Aug. 12. Once tryouts begin, teams may hold consistent practices Monday–Saturday until the end of the season.

In other athletics news, the Student-Athlete Leadership Council will host a student-led Student-Athlete Leadership Conference on March 19, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park (506 S. Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD; adjacent to Gaithersburg High School).

Participation is limited to three student-athletes per MCPS high school (freshmen, sophomores or juniors). Interested student-athletes should contact their school’s athletic director for more information and selection details. Learn more.
