Fall Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth assessment results are now available for parents and guardians to view in ParentVUE.

Updates to MAP National Norms

MCPS acknowledges there was a delay in releasing Fall MAP data this year. Beginning with the Fall 2025 results, MAP Growth uses updated national comparison data (new norms). This means your child’s RIT score is now compared to a new national sample of students. As a result: Your child’s percentile may look different than in previous years, even though their actual RIT score has not changed.

These updated norms are based on national performance trends from 2020–2025 and provide a current and more accurate comparison group for students.

To access the results, click the documents tile, then click the MAP Results - Fall 2025 link. To learn more about MAP Growth and norms, you can watch this video.

If you have any questions about accessing scores or understanding MAP Growth reports, please contact your child’s school.

The winter MAP testing window runs from Dec. 15, 2025 to Feb. 6, 2026. MCPS will begin processing and uploading reports two to three weeks after the window closes. Additional information about Winter MAP results will be provided soon.
