Job Fair for Bus Drivers Set for July 23

MCPS is hosting a job fair for bus drivers and bus attendants from 2–4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23. The fair will be held at the Division of Transportation Services (DOTS), 16651 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville.

To become a bus driver, the minimum qualifications are:

•         A high school diploma or GED.
•         At least 21 years old.
•         A clean driving history; no more than one point on driver’s license.
•         At least three years of driving experience, with at least one year driving in the U.S.
•         The ability to meet all pre-service training and testing requirements.

To become a bus attendant, the minimum qualifications are:

•         A high school diploma or GED.
•         Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•         The ability to meet pre-service training and testing requirements.
•         In addition, experience working with children/senior citizens or the special needs community is a plus, and basic first aid/CPR training is desirable.
