Career Days Inspire Students Across MCPS Schools

Throughout the school year, students across Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) participated in Career Day events that offered a glimpse into the world of work and inspired new ideas for the future.
Career Day speakers came from many backgrounds, giving students a broader view of the opportunities available to them. From doctors and police officers to journalists and media specialists, guests shared personal stories, career advice and hands-on demonstrations. The events aimed to connect classroom learning with real-life applications while encouraging students to begin thinking about their own goals and aspirations.
Participating schools included: Rachel Carson, South Lake and Stonegate elementary schools; Benjamin Banneker, Neelsville and Odessa Shannon middle schools; and Northwest High school. The visits sparked curiosity and enthusiasm across grade levels, helping students imagine themselves in roles they may not have considered before.
Isabel Argoti, deputy director of programs at Community Bridges Inc., was among the many guest speakers. After spending the day at South Lake she praised the event.
“What a beautiful Friday spent with the incredible students at South Lake,” Argoti said. “Kudos to the team and administration for hosting this great day for students.”
As the school year draws to a close, MCPS extends its gratitude to all the professionals and community members who shared their time and experiences. Their participation helped spark ideas, inspire ambition and support the next generation of leaders.
