Performing Arts Students Shine in Awards Celebration

Dozens of MCPS high school seniors were recognized for their accomplishments in dance, theatre performance, technical theatre, choral and instrumental music, media arts, and 2D and 3D visual art at the 24th annual Superintendent’s All-County Fine Arts Awards Celebration on May 12 at Seneca Valley High School. The event featured musical and dance performances from four high schools, plus the All-County Dance Ensemble, which performed “Find Me” by Forest Blakk and “Everlasting Return” by Julien Vega, choreographed by Franki Graham and coordinated by Tiffany Alastanos-Martin.
The event’s guest speaker was Superintendent Thomas Taylor.
Performances included:
- Montgomery Blair High School, which performed “A Musical” from Something Rotten, directed by Kelly O’Connor.
- Albert Einstein High School Dance Company, which performed “Veil and Voltage,” choreographed by Abran Gigsby and coordinated by Hannah Kerr.
- Springbrook High School presented its 2025 Winter Drumline Show, which was directed by Irene Guggenheim-Triana and Dorothy Lee.
- Thomas S. Wootton High School presented the Wootton Acatonics, who were directed by Keith Schwartz.
